There was an air of surprise as they all wondered why and what has come over him. “I get to school one (1) hour every day after my mate had arrived because I have to hawk before I think about going anywhere else. And by the time I get to school, I will end up sleeping all through till school is over; because I am already tried and stressed up. So I made up my mind that I am not going to waste time or money in the name of going to school” the boy explained.
Children are not just the leaders of tomorrow but also the hope of tomorrow, so when we abuse or mess with them, then we have altered something about tomorrow. But how many parents and guardians sincerely care about the future of their kids? They may be childish, ignorant, stubborn and helpless but they represent not only your tomorrow but ours also.

child abuseTake a stroll along some streets in Nigerian, from the early hours of the day to the late hours in the night, you will find children who we should be equipping with the necessary tools for tomorrow roaming the streets in the name of making a living. The question is what kind of adult will they grow up to be? When at the age they should have been discovering more about their life and future, they wasted it on the street. Education still remains number one requirement in life; it is still the key that unlocks the mind and birth great potentials and innovations. There is no end to learning in life, so every man is a student of life but we have to be careful of what we teach because it can mold us or break us, unite us or divide us, empower us or deprive us, make us or destroy us.
Education is not about going to school, passing your exams or having degrees but about being informed and acquiring necessary knowledge because a people that are well informed can never be defeated or deformed. Therefore, let us stop every form of child abuse and labour, send your child to school for the sake of his future not the street for the sake of his survival because when his future is secured his survival is guaranteed. But whatever happens tomorrow will have to be on us not them because today is when we can do something about it not then. Thus, the kind of tomorrow we will have is in our hands not in theirs.

  1. When a child sees adults treating each other the wya they do all over the place in theri personal support systems and in the new sending htem to unknown adults that have titles you will believe first before them would be very scary. Kids talk about what judges do to their families too. Unknwn adults with titles you beleive over their word is a very scary thing. costs a lot in trust too.
